Real Picks from South Korean Brands : Beauty Products #1

by

While reading other blogs, I have read so many posts introducing ‘Korean’ cosmetic or beauty brands that I have never seen while living here in Seoul. By all means, I am not implying that those products are bad. Through the ‘Real Picks’ posts, I plan to introduce brands and products that are actually trending in the country and are worth looking into. I hope you’ll enjoy it!

1. Mamonde Rose Water Toner / 2. CNP Laboratory Propolis Ample

First off we have Mamonde, a cosmetic brand line by Amore Pacific which is one of the largest beauty companies in South Korea. This rose water toner comes in big sizes, are frequently sold in bundles or up for sale and is easy to get a good bargain. I’ve seen many girls swear by this product because of its mildness and fresh scent. For those of you visiting Seoul, you can get it either at any Aritaum or Olive Young store. Next to it we have CNP (Cha and Park), a derma skincare brand’s propolis ample mix product. It definitely has more texture than the rose toner and the scent has a slightly amusing side to it, pretty much like any other propolis product. However, its ability to soothe irritated skin and rejuvenate post-acne skin has made it insanely popular. It is available at Olive Young and Watsons. By the way, these two stores are offline beauty & cosmetic & lifestyle retail stores similar to DM in Germany, Kicks in Sweden and Sephora (Worldwide). They are practically on every neighbourhood in Seoul so it won’t be too difficult to locate them.

If you’d like to find mild, eco-friendly cosmetic products Innisfree is your best choice! In addition to its well known trouble-care, volcanic mud, green tea lines, Innisfree has added a new sunscreen product in its ‘True Care’ line. This product comes with an SPF 48 PA +++ and does not have any inorganic elements in it. I have first bought Innisfree’s Green Tea Seed Serum about 3 years ago and it still remains as the brand’s best seller. The package has been renewed, but the quality definitely hasn’t changed over time. It’s mild and pumps up the skin with a dewy finish glow, a must have item in the summer! Innisfree is currently available on Iherb, I’ve embedded the link on the post and the images for you.

We get a lot of South Korean beauty products in the stores around us here where I live, but I always have no idea on what to go for. BUT I have tried Innisfree in the past (I use the lip tint to this day) and I adore them! Especially because of how environmentally friendly they are. And the products aren’t bad at all!
